Our Mission

Heights Elementary IB World School is dedicated to developing balanced, lifelong learners through educational excellence, a global perspective, reflection and action.

Welcome to 2020! It is amazing how time flies and how quickly things change year to year, or even month to month! In fact, we live in a society where a vast amount of information is literally at our fingertips and we are committed to staying on top of this continual change! With this shift in technology comes a shift in thinking. How important is history, math, science, or even vocational education? The answer is: very important! But, it is now seen through a different light. We are charged with the responsibility to prepare students for all fields– as thinkers and problem solvers! If fact, we are preparing children for future jobs that may not even exist today.

The IB Primary Years Program, for all students at Heights, focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. The IB focuses on ideals that have meaning for, and are important to, all of us. The program offers a balance between learning about or through the subject

areas, and learning beyond them. The six themes of global significance create a transdisciplinary framework that allows students to "step up" beyond the confines of learning within subject areas. This new year, we hope you find yourself fresh and

ready to do great things! Thank you for supporting us in our endeavor to provide the best education and build the responsibility and love of learning in each child.

Happy New Year!
